Pregnancy
& Postpartum
are just as important as
childbirth…
Here you’ll find three classes in one!
This series has 3 classes back to back: Third Trimester, Childbirth Ed, and Postpartum Prep. We encourage partners to attend and bring your friends! It’s always better to learn alongside others!
12:30PM-4:00PM 1st Sunday of the month
Third Trimester:
As you near the end of your pregnancy, the final weeks are full of remaining preparations, additional provider visits, sometimes new and/or changes to your initial birth expectations, and perhaps some worries around the unexpected. We want you to feel informed and confident during this time. We’ll discuss monitoring and testing that might be suggested, frequency of appointments and things to bring up with your provider, signs of labor and how to best prepare mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Childbirth Education:
It’s important to have a good understanding of the stages of labor and what to expect. Labor will likely have it’s own twists and turns, but with a solid foundation, we aim to help you weather these shifts with ease. We’ll cover the anatomy and physiology of birth, discuss preferences for pain management and what to expect in the birth setting. We’ll talk about ways to navigate the different phases of labor, including comfort measures and techniques. We discuss ways to approach inductions in the instance they are necessary, understanding epidurals, and common needs for cesareans. Our goal is to provide evidence based information that allows you to make educated decisions around your care.
Postpartum Prep:
You can’t plan for birth without preparing for what comes after! The postpartum period is just as important as the time leading up to birth, if not more so. In this section, we cover hormone changes, infant feeding, sleep strategies, available resources and the importance of identifying and communicating with your support system. We’ll discuss the potential for nuanced mental health challenges during this time, signs and symptoms, and ways to approach seeking help. Our goal is to provide practical information so you have what you need to feel successful during this time of transition.
